About Japan

History
Japanese railroads history bagan in 1872. Around 20 kilomters (12 miles) of tracks linked Tokyo with a close suburb. Private companies created a dense network : nn 1906, around 6,000 kilomters (3,730 miles) are all around the country.
A milestone is reached on October 1st, 1964. Shinkansen – a 210 kph (130 mph) passenger train – did its first revenue train during the Tokyo Olympics. Shinkansen network is the backbone of the 21st century railway network in Japan. Some people forecast a future made with sustentation trains but the huge costs may tranform this prediction to a fantasy.
