Pictorial books are rare in France, especially when they don’t talk about French railways. This one is about Western America and is a good introduction to North American railroading.
Many people turned digital but Philippe and Rodolphe still use middle-format cameras with Fuji Provia films. The quality of the book is good. The cover gives an idea of the authors’ style : strong shadows and very selected light. The composition is well done most of the time and emphasizes the Western American amazing landscapes.
